Woodrow the hero for 10 man Robins

Milford United 3 Camrose 2 MILFORD United boss Andrew Burgoyne must wince every time star striker Nicky Woodrow goes into a tackle.

Because if they lost their young goal machine to injury things could be very different for the Robins.

Woodrow underlined his pace and finishing prowess with a hat-trick that secured the Robins' eighth win in their first season back in the top flight.

The free-scoring front man found the net after 25 minutes, following a fairly even period of play.

But Woodrow showed his goalscoring instincts to be in the right place at the right time to hammer in James Stanmore's rebounded effort.

The Robins went into the break a goal up but Camrose fought back shortly after the restart.

Martin Tweedy picked up the ball near the centre circle and closed in on goal.

Home keeper Steve Hartley rushed out to challenge but only succeeded in bringing Tweedy down and referee Roy Boswell had no option but to point to the spot.

And for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity Hartley received a straight red. That prompted a rapid reshuffle with William Goodall putting on the keeper's gloves.

His first job was to pick the ball out of the net as Adi Smith hammered in the spot kick.

But down to 10 men and having just lost their lead, the Robins fought their way to a crucial two goal cushion.

Stanmore and Woodrow again combined with the latter heading in the left-wing cross with 20 minutes to go.

And Woodrow scored his and his side's third after dancing past two defenders and blasting his shot beyond Mathias.

Tweedy picked up a late consolation for Camrose but it was Woodrow and Milford United that took the points.
