Flowers left at fatal crash site

From the archive, first published Thursday 19th Jan 2006.

FLOWERS have been laid at the site of a car crash that killed a Neyland man.

Family and friends have left bouquets and messages at the scene near Barnlake Point - just off the Cleddau Bridge - where Wayne Vivian Lloyd, 32, was fatally injured on Sunday.

Mr Lloyd's Dark Green Vauxhall Vectra left the road in wet conditions and hit an embankment at about 5.30pm. He died at Withybush Hospital. Front seat passenger Richard Webb, 25 and also from Neyland, suffered serious injuries.

He is described as being in a comfortable condition.

The crash is still under investigation. A police spokesman said: "It is known that the vehicle had travelled from the Amroth area prior to the collision. Witnesses should contact PC Justin Williams at Haverfordwest traffic department on 0845 330 2000."

Mr Lloyd's funeral will be held at Bethesda Baptist Chapel, Neyland, tomorrow (Friday) at 11.30am.
